Redevelopment work starts at Shannon Free Zone, Co. Clare

The Company undertook a major upgrade to the front entrance lobby/circulation area and upgrade to the fit-out on the first floor.

Shannon Commercial Properties awarded the project management and design contract to Quinn Architects, Limerick, following an open tender process.  Galway based Monami Construction Ltd was awarded the upgrade works contract. The project was completed in six months and the building is now available for lease.

“Shannon Free Zone was initially established in the 1960’s and some parts of it require up-grading and the Shannon Airport House project is the first initiative of our long term redevelopment strategy for the Zone. The redevelopment will commence on a phased basis and while some speculative construction will commence initially, the latter stages of the development will be demand driven,” said Ray O’Driscoll, Managing Director, Shannon Commercial Properties.

Shannon Free Zone, a 600-acre business park, is home to over 100 companies employing approximately 7,000 people. It is the largest multi-sectoral business park in Ireland. Shannon Free Zone is a key location for R&D investment in manufacturing and international services. Companies located in Shannon Free Zone generate almost €3 billion in sales annually, of which 90% go to export markets.
