Wild Atlantic Way

Gateway to the WAW

There’s so much to see and do here

Getting to the Shannon Region and the West of Ireland is easy, thanks to Shannon Airport and regular rail services from all over Ireland and tourism here is highly developed with the introduction of the Wild Atlantic Way initiative. You know about the stunning scenery and the majestic Shannon River, the phenomenal Cliffs of Moher and the ancient Bunratty Castle.

But you may not have heard about some of the other attractions here:

The Burren is a unique limestone pavement landscape and is often described as Europe’s largest rock garden which has to be seen to be believed. The Hunt Museum in Limerick houses one of the country’s most important art collections while the mills and thatched cottages of Limerick’s towns and the artists and craft workers of County Clare are living history.

Plan your next visit here and don’t miss our heritage attractions found on the Shannon Heritage website.
